Overview
This document provides a list of commands and descriptions of their usage. {XE �r;IBS AIX Commands�}
Note: The isqlline / sql_run_process supports the variable IBS_HOST which can be set to -H XXXXX where XXXXX is the hostname.
SBN Commands and Descriptions
SCRIPT FILE: erasereports
{XE �r;erasereports�}
Usage: erasereports keepdays
Erases old report from standard ibs report directory.
keepdays : Number of days to keep reports
SCRIPT FILE: isqlline
{�r;isqlline�}
Usage: isqlline [-U id] [-P psw] [-c cmd] [-o] cmd db server
[loop-delay] [user] [psw] [lin] [opt]
Executes sql command.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname
-c cmd : Optional sql command to execute. This option can be repeated
-o : Make a substitute option on command
cmd : Last sql command to execute
db : Database to execute command in
server : Server to execute command on
loop-delay : If specified, the sql command will be repeated
every 'loop-delay' seconds
user : Optional user. Def = ''
psw : Optional password. Def = ''
lin : Extra sqlline
opt : Additional sql options
SCRIPT FILE: sbnoff (Does not support multiple servers.)
Usage: sbnoff server
Stop all SBN processes prior to a machine shutdown.
Server : Server name
You can stop the SBN processes for a specific server.
Note: You must LOGIN as sybase to run this command.
Type the command �r;sbnoff� with the correct server name. The screen will display:
�r;Do you want to shutdown SBN processes on server XXXX (y/n)�
If you answer �r;y� then the procedure will stop:
all of the algens running on the named server
the background cleaner on the named server
the open/close handler on the named server
the report scheduler on the named server
the paging scheduler on the named server
The screen will display:
�r;Do you want to shutdown COPYTASKS for server XXXX (y/n)�
If you answer �r;y� then the procedure will stop:
the data entry copytask on the named server
the monitoring copytask on the named server
the service copytask on the named server
The screen will display:
�r;Do you want to shutdown server XXXX (y/n)�
If you answer �r;y� then the procedure will stop the named server.
SCRIPT FILE: start_bg_jobs

Usage: start_bg_jobs server [loop-delay] [file]
Starts background cleaner.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname
server : Login server
loop-delay : Loop time in secs
file : Outfile default is standard process file
SCRIPT FILE: start_billing_copytask
Usage: start_billing_copytask source-server destination-server [outfile]
[delay][id#]
Start billing copy task between two machines.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname
source serv : Source server
dest server : Destination server
outfile : Outfile (Normally /dev/null )
delay : Delay

Start unix based front end
Variable CONCFRONPORT may be defined in /iconfig/ibsprof or
iconfig/start_sql_SERVERNAME
Example: CONCFRONPORT=tty,1200,o,7,1;export CONCFRONPORT
If CONCFRONPORT is not defineD, the default is ttyb,9600,n,8,1

Usage: start_ma_dataentry_copytask source-server destination-server [outfile]

Start dataentry copy task between two machines.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password

Usage: start_maalgen server [loop-delay] [file][gen#]
Starts maalarm generator.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname
server : Login server
loop-delay : Loop time in secs
file : Outfile default is standard process file
gen# : Algen # (default is 1)

Usage: start_ma_monitoring_copytask source-server destination-server [outfile]

Start monitoring copy task between two machines.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname
source serv : Source server
dest server : Destination server
outfile : Outfile (Normally /dev/null)
delay : Delay

Usage: start_marketing_copytask source-server destination-server [outfile]

Start marketing copy task between two machines.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname

outfile : Outfile (Normally /dev/null)

SCRIPT FILE: start_ocmonitor
Usage: start_ocmonitor server [loop-delay] [file]
Starts open/close handler.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname
server : Login server
loop-delay : Loop time in secs
file : Outfile default is standard process file
SCRIPT FILE: start_paging_scheduler
Usage: start_paging_scheduler database server [user][psw][intval]
where database is the database to use
server is the server on which the paging scheduler is to run
user (optional) user id
psw (optional) user password
intval (optional) time, in seconds, that the scheduler sleeps
Note: The environmental variable IBS_PAGING must be defined prior to starting the paging scheduler. This variable defines the directory where the paging files are found.
This may be typed as export IBS_PAGING=/directory path or included in the normal setup configuration.
SCRIPT FILE: start_report_scheduler
Usage: start_report_scheduler database server
Start of report scheduler.
database : Database
server : Login server name
SCRIPT FILE: start_rw_report_scheduler
Usage: start_rw_report_scheduler database server [user] [psw] [intval] [maxj]
[kdays] [ofile]
Executes start of report RW report scheduler etc.
database : Database
server : Login server name
user : Username (optional)
psw : Password (optional)
intval : Interval (seconds) (optional)
maxj : Max concurrent reports (optional)
kdays : Keep days (optional)
ofile : Outfile (intended for /dev/null) (optional)

Usage: start_ma_service_copytask source-server destination-server [outfile]

Start service copy task between two machines.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname

outfile : Outfile (Normally /dev/null)

Usage: start_schedule_copytask source-server destination-server [outfile]

Start schedule copy task between two machines.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname
source serv : Source server

outfile : Outfile (Normally /dev/null)
delay : Delay

SCRIPT FILE: start_sql
This command is an additional check to the start_sql command to prevent someone from restarting the server with the wrong /ir set.
When issuing this command, the values in version.ini must match the release in sysvalues or an error message appears and the temporary tables are not created. A date stamp is also returned when using an earlier version of min_gui. No programs are run in the tables. Only values display and these values are updated manually.
Usage: start_sql [-P psw] server
Executes start of database server.
-P psw : SA password
server : Login server name
- I : Starts SBN portion of the server ONLY.
Note: This command resets all reports that were Active at the server shutdown to Ready the startup of the server.
Note: Changes within the values tables may only be changed by the System Administrator.

Usage: start_workorder_copytask source-server destination-server [outfile]

Start workorder copy task between two machines.
-U id : User, default is SA
-P psw : Password
-H hostname : Hostname

Usage: stop_bg_jobs server
Stops background cleaner.

SCRIPT FILE: stop_ma_dataentry_copytask
Usage: stop_ma_dataentry_copytask source-server destination-server [id#]
Stops dataentry copy task.

dest-server : Destination server

Stops maalgen cleaner.
