Preparing SBN

SBN uses BCP to import your local file into the SBN database.  You must add some files to your computer for this process to succeed.

You can download the necessary files from our support site, under Downloads\Miscellaneous\ibs_bcp.zip.

Download and unpack the .zip file in the same directory as your local version of SBN.exe.

For example, if SBN.exe resides in folder 0092 then you will have this result after unzipping the file.

Preparing Import File

Start with this Excel template: /sbn/system-administration/zone_import_sample.xlsx

Fill in your data.

Delete column headers. Do not clear the row…delete the entire row.

Save As Tab delimited .txt file.

Importing File

Open program 1889

Click button MODE until you are in the ZONES mode.

If you already have data in the table then it will be loaded (as shown above).

Regardless, click IMPORT to import the tab-delimited file from the previous section.

Select ’45 Zone Import for 1889’

Select your file, then click RUN.

A DOS screen will appear and the files will be imported into the staging table.

There are two main reasons for this to fail.

  1. You left the column headers in the file.
  2. You do not have the BCP files on your machine.

Inserting Zones

Use button POST ONE to insert the highlighted row into the main Zone table.

Use button POST ALL to insert all rows into the main Zone table.

Rows successfully inserting into the main Zone table will have an X in the App Flg column.

Rows failing to insert will have an error #.  Double-click a row to see the error description below.
