Videofied Service

Videofied Service

Overview

The Videofied Service receives signals from Videofied video-alarm panels and turns them into alarms in SBN. It listens on a network port for the connection from the panels (via the Frontel receiver) and, as events arrive — alarms, video-available notifications, and panel test messages — it queues them for processing so they appear on the operator screens. Video clips captured by the panel can be referenced from the alarm so the operator can review what triggered the event.

The service also watches for the panel's regular check-in. If a panel stops checking in within the configured heartbeat window, the service raises a communication-fail alarm on a designated error account so an operator is alerted that contact with the panel has been lost.

The service requires a working SBN data-server connection; if the connection cannot be established at start-up, the service logs the reason and stops. Secondary and tertiary SBN connections may also be configured so the same alarm activity is written to more than one SBN database.

Service Manager

Instructions for installing and interacting with this service is found here.

Service Properties

Only properties specific to this service are listed here. Common service properties (SBN Server connection, Logging, SMTP) are found here.

Port

The network port the service listens on for connections from the Videofied panels. The panels (via the Frontel receiver) must be configured to send to this same port.

Receive Timeout (in seconds)

How long the service waits for data on an open connection before treating it as dead and resetting the listener. This protects the service from a stalled or dropped connection holding the port open.

Heartbeat (In Seconds)

How long the service waits for a panel to check in before raising a communication-fail alarm. Each valid message from a panel resets this timer; if the timer expires, an alarm is sent to the configured error account.

SBN Error Account (CID)

The account (CID) used when the service needs to raise its own alarm — for example a heartbeat communication-fail — rather than an alarm tied to a specific reporting panel.

Receiver Type

The receiver-type code recorded with each generated alarm, identifying these signals as coming from the Videofied integration.

Conc Id

The concentrator identifier recorded with each alarm the service queues, identifying which concentrator the signal activity is associated with.

CID Prefix

A fixed set of characters added to the front of each panel's account number (CID) before the alarm is queued, so incoming account numbers match the format used in SBN.

CID Size

The total length the account number (CID) should be. After the prefix is applied, the account number is zero-filled to reach this length.

Zone Prefix

A fixed set of characters added to the front of the zone information in the alarm comment, so zones read consistently on the operator screen.

Zone Size

The length the zone value is padded to when it is written into the alarm comment.

Include full file path in Alarm Log comment

When enabled, the full path to the captured video file is included in the alarm log comment, so an operator can locate the clip associated with the event.

Video file path

The root directory where captured video files are stored. Used together with Include full file path in Alarm Log comment to reference clips from the alarm.
