Overview

Use Territories (program #1616) to group branches together and assign a single territory ID to all branches contained in that territory. Territories contains a sublevel that contains three tabs for defining specific information for each territory, such as included zip codes or counties and included branches and subscriber types.

To access this program, select Territories (program #1616) from the main menu of SBN.

The Territories Window

The following graphic shows Territories. The upper pane displays previously defined territories.

 

Field/Column Descriptions

The following table describes the fields and columns used in the main window of Territories.

Field/Column

Description

Territories

Code that identifies the selected territory.

Dealer ID

Abbreviation that identifies the dealer associated with the territory.

Description

Text description of the selected territory.

Zooming into the Sublevel of Territories

Territories contains a sublevel with three tabs for defining a territory:

  • The Details tab - in which you define the zip codes and counties to include in the territory   

  • The Branches tab - in which you define the branches to include in the territory

  • The Subscriber Types tab - in which you define subscriber types to include in the territory

The Details Tab

Use the Details tab to define the zip codes and counties to include in the selected territory. The following graphic shows the Details tab. The tab displays zip codes and counties previously included in the selected territory.

The following table describes the fields and columns used in the Details tab.

Field/Column

Description

Zip Code

Identifies the zip code attached to the selected territory.

City

Identifies the city associated with the selected zip code.

  • Use Zip Code Profiles (program #1718) to associate a city with a zip code.

Zip

Identifies the zip code to attach to the selected territory. (This menu originates from program #1718.)

O    If you intend to use option ba364, you should attach a zip code to only one territory.

The Branches Tab

Use the Branches tab to attach branches to a selected territory. The following graphic shows the Branches tab. The tab displays branches previously attached to the selected territory.

Branch

Identifies the branch attached to the selected territory.

Description

Text description of the selected branch.

Patrol Branch

If this column displays an X, the selected branch is a patrol branch.

Sales Branch

If this column displays an X, the selected branch is a sales branch.

Owner Branch

If this column displays an X, the selected branch is an owner branch.

Install Branch

If this column displays an X, the selected branch is an install branch.

Service Branch

If this column displays an X, the selected branch is a service branch.

Subscriber Type

Identifies the subscriber type associated with the selected branch. (This menu originates from program #1534.)

The Subscriber Types Tab

Use the Subscriber Types tab to attach subscriber types to a selected territory. The following graphic shows the Subscriber Types tab. The tab displays subscriber types previously attached to the selected territory.
