Tax Types

Overview

Use Tax Types (program #1511) to define types of tax collected. SBN uses these tax types as field labels in the sublevel of Tax Codes (program #1514). To access this program, select Tax Types (program #1511) from the main menu of SBN.

The Tax Types Window

The following graphic shows Tax Types. The upper pane displays previously defined tax types.

Field/Column Descriptions

The following table describes the fields and columns used in Tax Types.

Field/Column	Description
Type/Abbreviation	Abbreviation that identifies the selected tax type.
Description	Text description of the selected tax type.
Revenue Type	Select this check box to indicate that the selected tax type is a revenue type.
Revenue Type	Select a tax code for the selected tax type if you check the Revenue Type check box. (This menu originates from program #1515.)
Hidden	Select this check box to hide the selected tax type on invoices.
Sequence	The number in this field indicates when SBN applies the tax type to the invoice total. - Normal (not hidden). Tax is applied to the invoice total alone. - Post Tax (not hidden). Tax is applied to the invoice total + normal tax type amount. - Retained Tax (hidden if checked). Tax is applied to the invoice total + normal tax type amount + post tax type amount.
