Overview

Use Certificate Types (program #1653) to define certificate types and styles for use in the Certificates tab of Data Entry (program #559), where you can attach certificates to CIDs.

Navigating to Certificate Types

Use the following steps to access the Certificate Types program:

   1.    From the main SBN toolbar, select Menu.

   2.    From the drop-down menu, select Go To.

   3.    In the Go To Program dialog box, type in "1653" and press ENTER.

Field/Column Descriptions

The following table describes the fields and columns used in Certificate Types.

Field/Column

Description

Certificate Type

Abbreviation for the selected certificate type.

Dealer

Dealer assigned to the selected certificate type.

Description

Text description of the selected certificate type.

Creating a Certificate Type

Use the following steps to create a certificate type:

   1.    Choose New Record.

w The fields in the lower pane open for changes.

   2.    Enter details for the certificate type.

   3.    Choose Save.

w The new certificate type appears in the list in the upper pane.

Changing a Certificate Type

You can change details of an existing certificate type.

Use the following steps to change a certificate type.

   1.    From the upper pane, select the certificate type you want to change by double-clicking or choosing Get Record.

w The certificate type details appear in the lower pane.

   2.    Choose Change Record.

w The Description and Dealer fields open for changes.

   3.    Change details as necessary.

4.    Choose Save.

Deleting a Certificate Type

Use the following steps to delete a certificate type:

   1.    Select the certificate type you want to delete.

   2.    Choose Delete Record.

w The certificate type no longer appears in the list of profiles.

Restoring a Deleted Certificate Type

Use the following steps to restore a deleted certificate type:

   1.    Choose Select Record to Undelete.

w The Undelete window appears.

   2.    In the Undelete window, find the certificate type you want to restore and double-click it, or choose [ENTER].

w SBN restores the certificate type to the list in the upper pane.

Zooming into the Sublevel

Certificate Types contains a sublevel in which you may attach styles that determine the layout of certificate types.

The Styles Tab

The following graphic shows the Styles tab. The Styles tab displays previously defined styles for the selected certificate type.

Field/Column Descriptions

The following table describes the fields and columns used in the Styles tab.

Style

Style associated with the selected certificate type.

Revision

Style revision text description.

The text in this field appears in the Endorse 2 Reference field of the Certificates tab in program #559 when you select this style for a certificate.

Endorse 1

When this check box is selected, SBN displays an Endorse 1 check box on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

Endorse 1 Ref

Indicates whether the Endorse 1 Reference field appears on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

  • Leave this field blank if you do not want the Endorse 1 Reference field to appear on the certificate.

  • Enter an X to make the Endorse 1 Reference field available on the certificate.

  • Enter a + to require an entry in the Endorse 1 Reference field on the certificate.

Endorse 2

When this check box is selected, SBN displays an Endorse 2 check box on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

Endorse 2 Ref

Indicates whether the Endorse 2 Reference field appears on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

  • Leave this field blank if you do not want the Endorse 2 Reference field to appear on the certificate.

  • Enter an X to make the Endorse 2 Reference field available on the certificate.

  • Enter a + to require an entry in the Endorse 2 Reference field on the certificate.

Endorse 3

When this check box is selected, SBN displays an Endorse 3 check box on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

Endorse 3 Ref

Indicates whether the Endorse 3 Reference field appears on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

  • Leave this field blank if you do not want the Endorse 3 Reference field to appear on the certificate.

  • Enter an X to make the Endorse 3 Reference field available on the certificate.

  • Enter a + to require an entry in the Endorse 3 Reference field on the certificate.

Endorse 4

When this check box is selected, SBN displays an Endorse 4 check box on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

Indicates whether the Endorse 4 Reference field appears on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

  • Leave this field blank if you do not want the Endorse 4 Reference field to appear on the certificate.

  • Enter an X to make the Endorse 4 Reference field available on the certificate.

  • Enter a + to require an entry in the Endorse 4 Reference field on the certificate.

Endorse 5

When this check box is selected, SBN displays an Endorse 5 check box on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

Indicates whether the Endorse 5 Reference field appears on certificates of the selected style in the Certificates tab of program #559.

  • Leave this field blank if you do not want the Endorse 5 Reference field to appear on the certificate.

  • Enter an X to make the Endorse 5 Reference field available on the certificate.

  • Enter a + to require an entry in the Endorse 5 Reference field on the certificate.
