Export Vendor Schedules Service

Export Vendor Schedules Service

Overview

The Export Vendor Schedules Service writes out vendor schedule data from SBN as Excel files, ready to be picked up and sent to each vendor. On a fixed timer the service checks whether a scheduled export is due; when one is, it pulls the schedule data for every vendor, then saves a separate .xlsx file per vendor into the configured export folder. The service runs continuously, so each cycle it also clears out any export data that an operator has queued on demand from within SBN.exe.

Each export run can cover today only, or today and tomorrow, depending on how the scheduled time is set up. The service can be told to skip weekends so that no files are produced on Saturday or Sunday. Output files are named with the date, time, and vendor so that each vendor's file is easy to identify.

If a file cannot be written, the service records the problem in its log and sends an email notification (when email is configured). The service requires a working SBN data-server connection; if the connection cannot be established at start-up, or if no export schedule has been defined, the service logs the reason and stops.

Instructions for installing and interacting with this service is found here.

Service Properties

Only properties specific to this service are listed here. Common service properties (SBN Server connection, Logging, SMTP) are found here.

File path

The folder where the exported Excel files are written. The service creates this folder at start-up if it does not already exist. Each vendor's schedule is saved here as its own dated .xlsx file.

Skip Weekends

When enabled, the daily export schedule does not run on Saturdays or Sundays. Leave it off to have the schedule run every day of the week.

Schedule

One or more times of day at which an export runs. At least one scheduled time must be defined, or the service has nothing to do and stops. Each scheduled time can be set to export today only, or today and tomorrow.
