Overview

Use Attachment Rules (program #1646) to define the rules for creating entries in the Communication Log (program #1888) for document files.

Navigating to Attachment Rules

Use the following steps to navigate to Attachment Rules:

1.  From the main SBN toolbar, select Menu.

2.  From the drop-down menu, select Go To.

3.  In the Go To Program dialog box, type in "1646" and press Enter.

  w Attachment Rules opens.

Field/Column Descriptions

The following table describes the fields and columns used in Attachment Rules.

Index

Line index number of the selected attachment rule.

Description

Text description of the selected attachment rule.

Dealer ID

Dealer associated with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1537).

Mode

One-letter code that indicates which mode of the Communication Log (program #1888) entries for files with the selected attachment rule are created in. The following codes are for each Communication Log mode:

  • C - Contract

  • I - Installation

  • A - Account

  • D - Department

  • U - User

This code may also indicate the type of item the selected attachment rule corresponds to:

  • S - Service Request

  • W - Work Order

Input File Mask

Input file attachment rule. Defines the required file syntax for document file names sent to SBN to have entries created in the Communication Log (program #1888).

Output Folder/File Mask

Defines the file folder for the selected attachment rule to be used as the storage location for document file names sent to SBN.

Key 1

Select a code to enter in the Key 1 field of Communication Log entries for file names with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1519.)

Key 2

Select a code to enter in the Key 2 field of Communication Log entries for file names with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1519.)

Resolution Code

Select a resolution code to enter in Communication Log entries for file names with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1877.)

Code

Select a communication code to enter in Communication Log entries for file names with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1517.)

Key 3

Select a code to enter in the Key 3 field of Communication Log entries for file names with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1519.)

Key 4

Select a code to enter in the Key 4 field of Communication Log entries for file names with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1519.)

Send-To User

Select a user to enter in the Send-To User field of Communication Log entries for file names with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1501.)

Send-To Department

Select a department to enter in the Send-To User field of Communication Log entries for file names with the selected attachment rule. (This menu originates from program #1590/28.)

Creating an Attachment Rule

Use the following steps to create a new attachment rule:

1.  Choose New Record.

  w The fields open for changes.

2.  Enter details of the new attachment rule.

3.  Choose Save.

Changing an Attachment Rule

Use the following steps to change an attachment rule:

1.  Select the attachment rule you want to change by double-clicking on it, or choose Get Record.

  w The fields open for changes.

2.  Enter changes.

3.  Choose Save.

Deleting an Attachment Rule

Use the following steps to delete an attachment rule:

1.  Select the attachment rule you want to delete.

2.  Double-click your selection or choose Get Record.

3.  Choose Delete Record.

  w A confirm dialog box opens.

4.  Choose Yes.

  w SBN removes the attachment rule from the list.
