Cameras Loader Service
Overview
The Cameras Loader Service is the host that camera-vendor integrations run inside. Rather than having a separate SBN service for every camera manufacturer, this one service loads the vendor plugins you have enabled and gives each of them somewhere to run. When a camera of a supported type needs to be brought online, the request reaches this service and is handed to the plugin that knows how to talk to that manufacturer's equipment.
The service runs as numbered instances, so you can install more than one and spread the camera load across them, or keep particular vendors separated. Each vendor plugin carries its own settings — the addresses and sign-in details for that manufacturer's equipment are configured on the plugin, not on the loader. For example, HikVision cameras are handled by the HikVision plugin; see HikVision. Some vendor plugins also require the manufacturer's own software to be installed on the machine, so check the plugin's own page before enabling it.
Dashboard
Installing and managing this service is done from the SBN Services Dashboard — see here. The Dashboard is also where you choose which vendor plugins this service loads, and where each plugin's own settings are edited.
Service Properties
Only properties specific to this service are listed here. Common service properties (SBN Server connection, Logging, SMTP) are found here.
This service does not have its own properties dialog. What it loads is controlled by the list of enabled vendor plugins, and each plugin's connection and sign-in details are configured against that plugin rather than against the loader. See the page for the vendor plugin you are using — for example HikVision — for the settings it needs.
