Program #:   1864

Module:    System Administration

Overview

If you have administrative authority, you can use Technicians (program #1864) to view or change a technician’s contact information. However, you must first add the technician to the database in Personnel (program #1811).

Navigating to Technicians

Use the following steps to navigate to Technicians:

1.  From the main SBN toolbar, select Menu.

2.  From the drop-down menu, select Go To [ALT+F1].

3.  In the Go To Program dialog box, type in "1864."

  w The Technicians program opens.

The following graphic shows Technicians after a search has been performed.

Field/Column Description

The following table describes the fields and columns used in Technicians.

Tech Br

The branch with which the technician is associated.

Tech ID

The technician’s ID.

Technician ID

The technician’s ID.

Name

The technician’s name.

City

The technician’s city.

Phone

The technician’s phone number.

InstCmpy

ID of the installation company.

Active

If this field displays a -, the technician is inactive.

Cmpy

ID of the installation company.

Tech Br

The branch with which the technician is associated.

Name

Technician’s first name.

Middle Initial (No label)

Technician’s middle initial, if available.

Last Name (No label)

Technician’s last name.

Street (Number)

Street number (part of the technician’s address).

Street Name (No label)

Street name (part of the technician’s address).

Apartment Number (No label)

Apartment number, if applicable (part of the technician’s address).

Additional Address Info (No label)

Additional address information, if applicable.

Zip

Zip code of the technician's location.

State

State where the technician is located. (This field holds a maximum of 60 characters.)

Country

Select the country in which the technician is located from the drop-down menu.

City

City in which the technician is located.

Phone

Technician’s phone number.

Fax

Technician’s fax number.

Contact

Name of a contact for the technician.

Phone

Primary phone number for the contact.

Phone 2 (No label)

Secondary phone number for the contact.

Comment

Free-form text comment about the technician or contact.

Searching for Technicians

In order to view technician information, you must perform a search for technicians. You can search for

  • Technicians associated with a branch

  • Individual technicians

Use the following steps to search for technicians associated with a branch:

1.  In Technicians, select a branch from the Tech Br menu.

2.  Choose Search.

  w SBN displays all technicians associated with the selected branch.

Use the following steps to search for a specific technician:

1.  In Technicians, select a technician’s ID in Tech ID.

2.  Choose Search.

  w SBN displays the selected technician.
