YourSix

The YourSix service connects SBN Media to cameras managed in the YourSix cloud, streaming their live video or playing back recorded clips.

Overview

YourSix is a cloud camera platform. This service connects to a YourSix account and brings its cameras into SBN Media - streaming live video, or playing back recorded clips from the cloud - so they can be viewed and used like any other device.

It is one of SBN Media's *device-stream* services, so it shares the on-demand creation, load-balancing, and limits common to all of them - see Device Streams (SBN-Media/Devices/device-streams). This page covers only what is specific to YourSix.

  1. Runs: When configured. Needed to use YourSix cameras.
  2. Required: Only if you use YourSix cameras.
  3. Depends on: NATS, and outbound internet access to the YourSix cloud with an account API key.

Configuration

Set the YourSix account details under the yoursix namespace, in addition to the shared devicestream configuration (see Device Streams):

Setting

Default

Description

yoursix.apiUrl

(none)

yoursix.apiKey

(none)

A camera is opened by its URL:

  1. yoursix://<device-id>?resolution=<width>x<height>&audio=<true|false> - live video at the given resolution.
  2. add &videoPlayBackTimeIso=<time> to play back a recorded clip from that time instead.

After changing settings in sbn-media.local.yaml, apply them with ./sbn-media config reload.
