Overview

Use Inspection Types (program #1833) to define and maintain inspection types that you can attach to items. You can also use Inspection Types to identify the frequency and type of inspection required by an inspection authority.

To access this program, select Inspection Types (program #1833) from the main menu of SBN.

The Inspection Types Window

The following graphic shows Inspection Types as the program opens. The upper pane displays all previously defined inspection types.

Field/Column Descriptions

The following table describes the fields and columns used in Inspection Types.

Field/Column

Description

Type

An abbreviation that identifies the inspection type.

Description

Text description of the inspection type.

Manual Inspection Time

The time required, in minutes, to perform a manual inspection.

Waterflow Device

Type an X in this field if the inspection type is for a waterflow device that requires an additional location for the inspector test valve.

Visual Inspection Time

The time required, in minutes, to perform a visual inspection.

Zooming into the Sublevel of Inspection Types

Inspection Types contains a sublevel in which you attach inspection authorities to a selected inspection type.

The following graphic shows the Inspection Types Details tab. The tab displays the inspection authorities attached to the selected installation type.

Field/Column Descriptions

The following table describes the fields and columns used in the Inspection Types Details tab.

Field/Column

Description

Aut Code

Identifies the selected inspection authority.

Freq

How often, in months, the selected inspection authority requires inspection for the inspection type.

M/A

Identifies the type of testing the selected inspection authority allows.

O    M = Manual inspection
A
= Alternating between manual and visual inspections

Name

The name of the selected inspection authority.
