Common Functions
in SBN
Overview
In addition to specialized functions, most of the programs in SBN contain a set of common functions with toolbar buttons that you can use for:
You may access each function by choosing the corresponding toolbar button in the program, or by using corresponding hotkeys. You may define the layout of toolbar buttons to display

Icons Only - toolbar buttons appear with icons only.

Text & Icons - toolbar buttons appear with text and icons.

Text, Icons & Keys - toolbar buttons appear with text, icons, and hotkeys.
Additionally, you may view the full name and hotkey for a button by hovering your mouse over the button.

Navigating through Entries
You may easily navigate through a list of entries by choosing:

Next Record to move forward through the list, or
-
Previous Record to move backwards through the list.
Printing a List of Entries
You may print a list of entries displayed in a window by choosing Print selected records.
Viewing the Details of an Entry
You can view the details of an entry in a list in fields usually located to the right or below the displayed list.
Use the following steps to view the details of an entry:
1. In program you are using, from the displayed list select the entry for which you want to view the details.
2. Double-click your selection or choose Get Record.
w The fields to the right or below the displayed list fill with the details of the selected entry.
Changing the Details of an Entry
In many programs you can change the details of an entry.
Use the following steps to change the details of an entry:
1. In the program you are using, from the displayed list select the entry you want to change.
2. Choose Change Record.
w Fields fill with the details of the selected entry, but open for changes.
3. Enter changes, as needed.
4. Choose Save.
Adding an Entry
Use the following steps to add an entry:
1. In the program you are using, choose New Record.
w Fields in the window open.
2. Complete the fields.
3. Choose Save.
w SBN adds the entry to the list of defined entries for the program.
Deleting an Entry
In most of the programs in SBN you can delete defined entries.
Use the following steps to delete an entry:
1. In the program you are using, select the entry you want to delete.
2. Choose Delete Record.
w SBN asks you to confirm that you want to delete the selected entry.
3. Choose Yes.
w SBN deletes the selected entry.
Restoring a Deleted Entry
In programs that contain the Undelete button you can restore a deleted entry back into SBN.
Use the following steps to restore a deleted entry:
1. In the program you are using, choose Undelete.
w The Undelete window appears.
2. In the Undelete window, find the entry you want to restore and double-click it, or choose [Enter].
w SBN restores the entry to the active list of defined entries.
Using a Template for a New Entry
In many programs you can use one entry as a template for another entry.
Use the following steps to use one entry as a template for new entry:
1. In the program you are using, select the entry you want to use as a template.
2. Choose Copy Current Record.
w Fields fill with the details of the selected entry, but remain open for changes.
3. Change any information needed for the new entry.
4. Choose Save.
w SBN adds the new entry to the list of defined entries.
Zooming into the Sublevel
Programs that display the Zoom in/out of Sublevel button contain sublevel tabs that contain additional information about entries.
Use the following steps to zoom into the sublevel:
1. In the program you are using, select the entry for which you want to view the sublevel.
2. Double-click your selection or choose Get Record.
3. Choose Zoom in/out of Sublevel.
w The sublevel tabs appear below the main window.
Tearing Away a Sublevel Tab
You may find it easier to work in a sublevel tab if you view it as a separate window.
Use the following steps to tear away the tab:
1. In the program you are using select an entry for which you want to view the sublevel.
2. Choose Tear Away Selected Tab.
w The sublevel tab appears as a separate window.
Running and Viewing a Report
Use the following steps to run and view a report:
1. Define the parameters for the report.
2. Choose Save to save the report to the Report Queue.
3. In Report Queue (program #1558), choose Own to display the report list.
4. In the report list, locate the report.
5. Choose Own again to refresh the status of the report.
6. When SBN displays an X in the Print Flag column of the selected report, which indicates the report is ready, double-click it to open the report.
7. Choose Display Report.
w The Print Preview window opens.
